Sheepshead are starting back up at El Jobean bridge on bits of shrimp and fiddler crabs, and pompano are holding off the beach in Venice. Flounder are also being caught along with some nice black drum under the North Port bridges over 41.
Redfish are hitting in the holes in Charlotte Harbor, and we're seeing some large snook along with juvenile tarpon in the Myakka River.
Bass action is also hot, with the canals producing well on artificials. Crappie are hitting minnows in the cool mornings and still taking worms in the warmer afternoons.
